Best piece of advice I have received
Tomorrow’s a New Day
One of the best pieces of advice I have received is, “Tomorrow’s a new day.”
I don’t remember exactly who said it, but the advice has stuck with me. I think it might have been
my mom. It is such simple advice, but with the right mindset, it can be quite powerful.
For example, during difficult weeks with a lot of schoolwork and deadlines, days can feel really
stressful and overwhelming. I tend to think about all my coursework as one big assignment. After I complete one task, I am already thinking about the next one. During these times, I always remind
myself, “Tomorrow’s a new day. No matter how hard today feels, you have a fresh start in the morning.” Instead of feeling defeated by the amount of work, I focus on the opportunity to start again. Even if today was tough, tomorrow gives me another chance to improve. This advice has empowered me to handle difficult situations with resilience. It has taught me to avoid overworking myself and to embrace each new day with a positive perspective. Rather than dwelling on past challenges, I try to look forward with optimism, knowing that each morning brings a new opportunity to grow.
English Learning Goal
I have kept up with my promise of learning new IPS vocabulary. I would say I have learned quite a lot of new words. I have been using Quizlet daily to keep the vocabulary fresh in my mind. For my next step, I will start forming sentences to apply the words in context. Expanding my vocabulary has already helped me feel more confident in my writing and speaking. As I continue improving, I hope to engage in conversations where I can use these new words naturally. Progress may be slow at times, but just like with any challenge, I remind myself tomorrow’s a new day.
I appreciate the advice you shared about embracing each new day. It is such an inspiring reminder to shift focus from stress to possibility. Your scenario of doing too much course work and yet being hopeful is encouraging. Plus, reading about your word growth and word fluency in using words is simply awesome.
